In 2005, the Giller Light Bash expanded to Winnipeg, thanks to a dedicated group of volunteers. Held at the McNally Robinson Booksellers at Grant Park, the event was a huge success in its first 3 years with about 120 people attending the sold-out event.

Every year, the head chef at McNally Robinson cooks up an incredible meal while attendees watch the Scotiabank Giller Prize broadcast on a big screen. All funds raised from the event support Frontier College’s literacy programs for children, youth and adults across the country.

In 2006, the Giller Light Bash partnered with Scotiabank, renaming the event the “Scotiabank Giller Light Bash.”
